A man allegedly decapitated his own mother after calling her a “precious gift.”
The chilling crime was discovered after Robert Tănase walked into a police station.
He reportedly handed in a bloodstained knife and announced that he had just killed his girlfriend.

The police say he seemed confused and incoherent. However, they managed to get an address out of him.

An ambulance was dispatched to the flat and paramedics found a decapitated woman inside.
She was quickly identified as the suspect’s 54-year-old mother on Friday (14 Mar) night.
Tănase, 25, had moved back in with her after breaking up with his girlfriend.

Detectives believe he may have mistaken her for his ex during a “hallucination.”
When asked why he had killed her, he reportedly replied: “Because she cheated on me with other people.”
Tănase had returned to Murgeni, north east of Bucharest, Romania, a few months ago after working in the UK.
His social media profile still lists his address as Ipswich.
A neighbour told local media: “He wasn’t aggressive.”
But locals say they often saw him wandering around aimlessly as he struggled to come to terms with his break-up.

Forensic experts are now working to determine if he was drunk or on drugs when he attacked his mother.
About a month earlier, Tănase had reportedly said on social media: “Mother is a precious gift from Jesus Christ.”

He has now been charged with murder and could face 25 years in prison, as reported by Need To Know.
But investigators must first determine if he was capable of understanding his actions, as he may have undiagnosed mental health issues.

The victim was described by her niece as an “extraordinary woman” and an “extraordinary mother”.
