A cancer dietician has shared the simple snack that she claims can help prevent the disease – and it’s budget-friendly.
Nichole Andrews is a registered dietician and nutritionist specialising in oncology, with over 15 years of experience in the field.
The 38-year-old regularly takes to TikTok to share advice with her 200,000 followers and, in a recent post, shared her favourite healthy snack – which she says can help ward off cancer.
In the clip, which garnered 15,000 views, she said: “I’m a cancer dietician, and I am going to teach you a very, quick and easy cancer prevention snack.
“It’s going to keep you full, it’s going to keep you satisfied, and you’re going to feel refreshed and good after it.
“And the best part: it’s going to help you reduce cancer risk.
“This is my favourite snack, I have it multiple times a week in the afternoon.”
Nichole starts by preparing some carrots, peppers and snap peas, advising that you needn’t buy organic for this to be impactful.
She washes very veggies under water, and then chops them up and adds it to a bowl with kalamata olives, and a piece of string cheese, which she cuts up too.
Using comparable ingredients from the UK supermarket chain Asda, the snack works out to cost roughly £1.56 per serving.

According to the specialist, the mix of vitamins and nutrients that the simple ingredients provide is what our bodies need to help ward off cancer.
She said: “Every bite of fruit and vegetable – fresh, frozen, or canned – reduces your risk of cancer and recurrence.”
This particular meal balances the fibre from the vegetables with healthy fats from the cheese and antioxidants in the olives.
Food, Nichole says, is a key way to keep the disease at bay.
“I know how amazing and powerful nutrition can be to help survivors have better treatment outcomes and reduce risk of recurrence,” Nichole, who is based in Tri-Cities, Washington, US, previously told Need To Know of her work in the field.
“Sadly there is so much misinformation out there, that people cannot eat well – so I am so happy to clear up that confusion and help people eat with confidence.”
Cost of snack estimated using comparable products in UK supermarket chain Asda including:
Carrot sticks – £0.85 (four servings)
Pepper – £0.59 (three servings)
Sugar snap peas – £0.98 (four servings)
Kalamata olives – £2.20 (four servings)
