In a video, which has more than 8,000 views, the woman told locals that they were on her land.
She tried to scare off the people who had hoped for a relaxed day at the beach, telling them that she had cameras in place and could call the police.
“I have cameras that show the neighbourhood,” she said.
“I have cameras, so I see the police coming all the time.
“So, yes, take care of yourselves.”
Another video taken of the woman saw her telling people, “You’re not living here”, before she then asked, “Where are you from?”.
According to local press, the exchange came when a person who had already been on the beach left their drink on the sand.
It has been said that the woman angrily approached the beachgoer while accompanied by her husband.
Without prior dialogue, she allegedly kicked the drink and started an argument before further asserting that the beach was private property.
This prompted people to confront her as they recorded the interaction in the video which was shared on 24 April.
The woman, thought to be from the United States, tried to take ownership of the beach located in San Pancho, Banderas Bay, Nayarit, a small state in western Mexico.
Authorities inspected the beach and found that construction workers had been working there, as reported by Need To Know.
According to local press, the woman was with the construction staff who were not supposed to be on the land due to a work suspension being in effect.
The woman was fined and six workers were additionally detained and received fines which have been paid.
It is not known how much they were ordered to pay in comparison to the woman.
Héctor Javier Santana García, the municipal president of Bahía de Banderas has since said that he would not allow any type of abuse or misappropriation of the beach.
He told local press: “No one has the right to close our beaches.
“In Banderas Bay, the sea belongs to the village.
“We want to inform citizens that the Municipal Government has acted immediately in the face of the events recorded on a beach on our coast, where a foreign person tried to restrict free access to Mexicans, arguing an alleged concession.
“The beaches are national properties and their access is free for everyone.
“Everyone is welcome – nationals and foreigners, but I ask for respect for everyone.
“We will continue to act with legality, firmness and respect for our people because here, the beaches are to be enjoyed in freedom, not to be surrounded with arrogance.”
After the video was shared online, many viewers credited the municipal president for taking action and were angry about what had happened.
Susie said: “Well done San Pancho, Riviera Nayarit and Mayor Santana for setting the order, the example and not accepting bites.”

Maria said: “Good for those actions that the president ordered.”
“Beaches are public, not for sale,” added Ricardo.
Jorge said: “You have to get them off the beach, they can’t own any land near the beach.”

“Send her to her country, she has no right to anything in Mexico,” Juliana added.
