The spot where Fred and Rose West’s “House of Horrors” once stood is now a walkway – but locals say they’re too terrified to step on it.
Fred West was an English serial killer who committed at least twelve murders between 1967 and 1987 in Gloucestershire, England – the majority with his second wife, Rose West.
And the home where many of the murders took place – 25 Cromwell Street, Gloucester – became known as the “House of Horrors”.

It was demolished in 1996, and the land was turned into a walkway, but locals say they still feel a “strange energy” when they pass it almost three decades later.
Patsy Dooley, who lives a five-minute walk from Cromwell Street, says she avoids using the path.
“It feels very strange there,” Patsy told Need To Know.

“There’s a very eerie, strange energy, almost cold.
“Everyone I know says the same, I haven’t met one person who doesn’t feel strange walking past or down the walkway.
“Everyone knows what happened there, so I think it naturally makes you feel uncomfortable when you walk past or walk down there.
“I personally don’t like to walk down it, I walk around instead.”
Between 1967 and 1987, the sick pair tortured, raped, and murdered at least 12 young women, including two of their own children.
Their daughter Heather’s disappearance prompted police to obtain a warrant to search the Cromwell Street garden in 1994.
Further excavations at the property led to the discovery of multiple bodies under the patio and cellar.
The pair were arrested in 1994.
Fred West was charged with 12 counts of murder, but he hanged himself in prison before his trial, while Rose was sentenced to life in prison in 1995.

Patsy says she’d been told stories about the House of Horrors and the couple’s crimes since she was a child.
A Netflix documentary, Fred and Rose West: A British Horror Story, was released on Netflix last week.
The 34-year-old added: “I watched the documentary on Thursday, but I’ve always been familiar with the story as I have lived here all my life and we all knew the story about it growing up.”
I am from the UK and remember every single night on the news reporting on the search of 25 Cromwell Street I just got out of school and attempting to being a University student . I read stories of them over the years and rejoiced when Fred West did everyone a favour by ending it on New Years Day 1995, 1995 the best year to call my break out year . It is one of the most evil cases anywhere .
