An MMA fighter has been rushed to the hospital after contracting a severe infection.
Zac O’Brien was admitted to the hospital on Monday (2 June) and quickly shared an update with his fans on social media.
In a video, the 24-year-old can be seen with a puffy face, swollen eye and a huge dent in his forehead.
He even puts his finger into the hole to show how deep it is.
“The staph infection was caused by wrestling with a small abrasion to the forehead, which then got infected,” Zach told Need To Know.

“And the pain at the start was horrible.
“I would have rather been elbowed in the head than have that pain again.
“I’ve been through 14 IV bags of antibiotics and am starting to feel better.”
According to the NHS, staph infections are caused by a bacteria called Staphylococcus.
They most often affect the skin and can go away on their own, but sometimes need to be treated in a hospital.
Zac is an MMA fighter known for his aggressive fighting style and quick finishes.
The 24-year-old’s record stands at four wins and three losses, with all victories achieved by knockout or technical knockout.
He shares insights into his training and personal life on Instagram, where he has 14,100 followers.
His latest video from his hospital bed gained 2.4 million views.
To make light of the situation, Zach captioned the post: “It’s not that deep.”

It has since attracted 11,400 likes and hundreds of comments.
Steven said, “Ouch.”
Daniel added: “3rd eye opened.”
Tam said: “Geezzz, hope you get well ASAP!”
Rush added: “Why are you looking at me like that?”

Jaden said, “Had staph in the same place, it’s not fun.”
Baz added: “Speedy recovery, brother.”

He is hoping to be better in time for his next fight on 26 July.
