A fake pregnant woman was busted by cops with a huge stash of drugs in a pretend baby bump
The 27-year-old suspect was arrested after police discovered that she was wearing a latex belly.
Authorities found that she had 5,600 individual doses of cocaine hidden inside.
She was travelling using public transport when police approached her.
The vehicle she was in came from Narino, south west of Bogota, Colombia.
She had just boarded another vehicle bound for the capital of the country, when she was intercepted by a criminal investigation unit.
The arrest took place in the Ciudad 2000 neighbourhood, in Cali.
According to police, these sophisticated fake bellies are typically acquired by drug trafficking networks from abroad at a cost of around £538, as reported by Need To Know.
They are then brought into Colombia to be adapted for covert drug transport.
The case has triggered warnings among authorities that smugglers may use the appearance of pregnancy to bypass security checks.

“This is a concerning new tactic,” an official involved in the investigation told local press.
“These false bellies are not just props – they’re part of a calculated effort to exploit human empathy and avoid suspicion.”
The woman was immediately handed over to the Nation’s Attorney General’s Office.
Investigators are now working to determine whether the suspect is part of a larger network operating along high-traffic routes between Nariño and Bogotá.
