A light green ‘Deliveroo’ food bag was seen on the floor in front of them.
The officer’s hi-viz was dumped on top of it after they swooped.
The cops then led the man towards a marked police van.
It happened at Cambridge Circus, off Shaftesbury Avenue, central London yesterday (25 Jun) at 12:30pm.

Officers also collared one food courier on a push bike.
He was ordered to pull over to the kerb before the three cops spoke to him.
It happened outside the Brewdog pub on nearby West Street.
“On every corner of the junction, bikes were being stopped when approaching the lights,” a witness told Need To Know.

“I was then told it was an operation to target the e-bikes and any illegal immigrants working.”
He said he saw nine bikes being seized.
It was filmed by a stunned onlooker in a one-minute and 21-second video.
It comes as the Home Office said it would crack down on food delivery riders who are working illegally.
Many brazen migrants are landing jobs after arriving on dights crossing the English Channel, it’s claimed.

One Londoner – called Jules – said: “Good.

“At least the police are pulling their fingers out.”
Sam said: “Who gives them all these bikes?”
Another added: “As long as the police keep up with it.
“At moment it’s just a show.”

Neal joked: “What about the food?”
Deliveroo terminates the contract of any worker if they are found to have broken the law.
The food delivery giant said there are some occasions were people have their branded kit but don’t work for them.
A Deliveroo spokesperson: “We have a zero tolerance approach to any criminal activity and all riders are DBS checked before onboarding with us.
“We investigate all reports of illegal activity and stop working with any rider found to have committed a crime.”
The Met Police declined to comment.
