The arrest was carried out at a maternity hospital on Saturday (5 Jul).
Chief inspector Fábio Souza told local media: “We knew she was pregnant and would check into a hospital to give birth.

“We monitored where she might be treated.
“Once we identified the location, we went there and carried out the arrest.”
Danúbia will remain in custody at the hospital in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, until doctors decide to discharge her.
She will then attend a hearing to decide whether she goes to prison or is placed under house arrest.
Danúbia was first arrested in 2017, as reported by Need To Know.

She served time for being part of an organised drug trafficking group and for bribery and was released in January 2024.
She is the ex of the notorious slum crime boss Nem da Rochina, who was once considered Rio’s public enemy number one.
He was the boss of the drugs trade in the Rocinha favela – responsible for 60 per cent of all cocaine consumed in Rio – for six years.

He reportedly had a net worth of 100m BRL (£13.52m) before his arrest in November 2011.
He was later sentenced to 12 years in a maximum-security prison for drug trafficking and smuggling.
Danúbia is popular on Instagram, with 93,400 followers.
