Holidaymakers have been left “shocked” after the body of a missing mum was discovered in the park’s lake.
Rachel Booth had been missing since the early hours of Saturday (19 July) morning, and a search had been underway to locate the 38-year-old mum-of-three.
She was last seen by family in the Barnton area of Northwich, and police reported today that a body has been found in the search.

Cheshire Police deployed underwater divers and sniffer dogs and recovered a body today (21 July) in Delamere Lake, which is home to the popular holiday spot, Delamere Lake Sailing and Holiday Park.

One family of five checked in this afternoon at 2pm as the scene unfolded, and were stunned to see emergency vehicles surrounding the picturesque location.
“We weren’t sure what was going on to start with because we saw police going quite fast, and then a lot of journalists,” the mum, from Bristol, who has not shared her name, told Need To Know.
“My husband went to collect the keys to our lodge, and they explained what was going on.

“It was so sad to hear, and we really feel so sorry for all of her family.
“There are more police and people down by the lake where it is cordoned off, but everywhere else feels really eerily quiet.
“Everyone is very shocked.”
A picture taken upon their arrival around 1.50pm shows emergency vehicles crowded around the site.
Another picture taken at 2.30pm shows a large emergency vehicle leaving the site.
The family was told holidaymakers are unable to swim in the lake or do any lake activities until Wednesday at the earliest.
