A group of cars have been found stuck in the sand after motorists drove them along the beach.
This included a car, a pick-up truck and a golf cart.
The vehicles allegedly “severely” damaged a mobility access mat located on the beach, which allowed for wheelchair access, reports Need To Know.

“The town is actively working to estimate replacement costs and assess the drivers for damages/replacement of the Mobi-Mat,” read a post by the local town of Oak Island.
“Once replacement costs and materials availability have been determined, an approximate timeline for replacement can be published.”
The incident took place in the early hours of the morning on 28 July.
It is believed the drivers made the move in a bid to get off the beach at Oak Island, North Carolina, US.
According to local reports, one vehicle had to be pulled out by a tow truck, while the other two were removed with the help of the town’s staff.
The mat is one of 10 on the beach – but due to seasonal demand, there’s limited availability.
Multiple citations have been issued to the drivers due to violations of Town Ordinance.
