Officials have now warned homeowners to secure their garden furniture to avoid any further delays.
The incidents came to light yesterday (4 Aug), as reported by Need To Know.

A spokesperson for Network Rail said: “We get all sorts of strange items blown onto tracks during very windy weather.
“Here’s a garden gazebo – complete with lights – on the railway in Huyton, Merseyside.
“Always tie down large items if you live near the railway – they can disrupt train services.
“Please tie down trampolines and garden furniture if you live near the railway.
“Weather like Storm Floris can blow big items onto lines and cause even more disruption to train services.

“Just imagine this flying at a train.”
Members of the public were left shocked by the news.
Graham Staddon said: “That would have been in the back of the van and erected in my garden.”

Robert Franklin added: “Did you return it to the owner.”
Sophie Dangerfield said: “Can’t have your garden party there mate.”
Colin George Williams added: “Try getting a train to run first to disrupt it.”
