A man has been convicted of murder after impaling his girlfriend with a bedpost – reportedly because he “was p***ed off and wanted her out”.
Adam Crespo, who originally claimed his partner died in a freak accident, gave the bizarre reasoning for his gruesome actions.
The 49-year-old is facing a possible life sentence after being convicted of second degree murder following the death of Silvia Galva.

The 32-year-old was impaled with a bedpost, which was fashioned like a metal spear and driven through her chest.
On Monday (11 August), Crespo was convicted and is now behind bars awaiting sentencing on 31 October.
Jaclyn Broudy, assistant state attorney of the Broward County State Attorney’s Office revealed: “He was p***ed off and wanted her out.”

The attack took place in the couples bedroom at their home in Hallendale Beach, Florida, as reported by NeedToKnow.
Galva died in July 2019 following an argument with Crespo after the pair returned from a night out with her friend.
Christopher Grieco, detective for the Hallandale Beach Police Department, interviewed the female friend.
The interview states that the friend her the couple arguing, claiming Crespo asked Galva to leave the room at one point.
An affidavit reportedly states the friend recalls hearing the victim scream whilst asking her boyfriend if he wanted her to ‘make a scene’.
Minutes later Crespo allegedly yelled for his partner’s friend to call 911.

After calling 911 and entering the room, the friend found the victim on her back, where she began CPR – but found she had no pulse and wasn’t breathing.
When police arrived, Crespo waived his right to an attorney and provided law enforcement with a sworn statement.
The 49-year-old told police he wanted to go to bed after the night out but got into an argument with an ‘intoxicated’ Galva.
Crespo allegedly told her to leave several times before grabbing her ankles and attempting to pull her off the bed.
According to Crespo, Galva then grabbed onto the bedpost described as a ‘five-foot spear with a 12 inch double sided metal blade’.

As he continued to pull his girlfriend whilst looking away, he claimed he heard a snap and turned around to Galva being impaled on the bedpost.
Crespo then told police he pulled it out ‘hoping it was not too bad’.
During his trial the defence attempted to explain how the victim may have impaled herself.
The 49-year-old did not testify during his trial and maintains the death was the result of a freak accident.
Jurors did not agree.
