A late-night surfer was pulled into the sea by dangerous rip currents, which sparked a rapid rescue mission.
Whilst out on the water, the man got caught out by 32mph winds, which left him stranded in the ocean.
A concerned member of the public spotted the panicked punter waving for help.
After spotting the frantic waving, the passerby phoned the emergency services.
The wise surfer stayed with his board off the coast of Rest Bay, Porthcrawl, Wales.

Fortunately, a volunteer crew from Porthcawl RNLI were on the scene immediately.
The team rushed out to the water at the popular tourist spot to rescue the stranded man.
The Atlantic 85 ‘Rose of the Shires’ boat jetted out to the surfer, where volunteers pulled him to safety.
The rescue mission took place last Thursday (11 Sept), as reported by Need To Know.

Beachgoers have now been warned to stay on the golf club side of the lifeboat station to avoid drifting out to sea without being spotted.
Gareth Collins said: “Thankfully, there were crew at the lifeboat station, so it was a quick launch of the charity’s Atlantic 85 ‘Rose of the Shires.’
“Despite the strong winds gusting to force 7/8 and rough seas, we were on scene within a few minutes and located the surfer off Hutchwns Point.
“We got alongside the surfer, and the crew pulled him onboard.
“He was in good spirits and otherwise unharmed.

“We have the second largest tidal range in the world in the Bristol Channel, and are currently on large spring tides which cause fast-moving currents.
“Once the surfer realised he was caught by the lateral current, he did the right thing by staying with his board and waving for help.
“Had he attempted to get out onto the rocks, he would have sustained injuries due to the heavy swell breaking into them.”
