A senior priest has been busted with pink cocaine and sex toys after police stopped his car.
Fr. Carlos Loriente was on holiday with three friends when their rental car was pulled over in a routine check.
Police sources told local media they found “about 10 packets containing different drugs – an amount well beyond what could reasonably be considered for personal use”.

The early-morning stop on 22 September led officers to search Loriente’s holiday flat in Torremolinos, Spain.
Inside, they uncovered tusi – known as pink cocaine – along with traces of MDMA and mephedrone, pointing to recent drug use.
Officers also seized a precision scale, drug-preparation tools, and sex toys.
Loriente – a canon of Toledo Cathedral and director of the San Ildefonso Theological Institute – was arrested on suspicion of a crime against public health.
He spent the night in a cell before being released on bail the next day, 23 September, after choosing to remain silent.
His companions on the trip were men of Argentine and Venezuelan origin, as reported by Need To Know.
One neighbour, Sara, told local media she often saw “young men of different nationalities, looking rather suspicious, who he would let straight into his house”.
She added: “Since the property has no number, when they arrived at the address he gave them, they often rang my family’s doorbell instead – over the past few months we’ve had about 10 such visits.
“He drove recklessly, came home at all hours speeding, and smoked constantly.”
But another neighbour defended him, describing Loriente as “such a nice guy” and suggesting he had been set up.
In 2023, Loriente was reported to the Vatican after defending a fellow priest convicted of sexually abusing a minor, but no action was ever taken against him.
Now, following this scandal, the Archdiocese of Toledo has launched an internal investigation and provisionally suspended him from ministry.
Loriente must appear in court whenever summoned.
