A woman who claims she once married a ghost is now a paranormal investigator who speaks to spirits that show up everywhere – including in the supermarket.
Brocarde, from Oxfordshire, is well-known for falling in love with Edwardo, the spectre of a Victorian soldier, after he appeared in her home.
While the pair eventually called it quits, divorcing by way of an exorcism last year, the 42-year-old singer and songwriter has continued to be plagued by the dearly departed ever since.
Now she is a paranormal investigator and claims to have spoken to over 100 spirits – and some of them are just as “annoying” as they likely were in real life.
This includes spirits such as a “drunk” miner who died on the job and “idiot” ghosts who try to intimidate humans.
“I try to keep my communications with ghosts a little relaxed, sometimes a spirit is wrapped up in their own pain and thoughts, and just wants to voice their sorrow or be noticed,” she told Need To Know.

“Often modern buildings are built on ancient burial sites or over a house someone has died in.
“It gets demolished and a new building is erected, but the spirits don’t forget.
“I had a ghost attach himself to me and shadow me around the supermarket once, fruit and veg just kept rolling off the shelves and across the floor, nobody understood what was happening.
“It’s their emotion that I pick up on first – I’ve heard spirits crying out in pain for loved ones.
“But I’ve also met ghosts who are the polar opposite and have no emotion, such as a miner who had nothing to say apart from asking me for a drink.
“His voice was slurred and he was swaying while sitting at a bar in his dusty boots and soiled clothes.
“The miner told me that he died on the job and didn’t spend enough time drinking and enjoying life.
“He grunted every time the doors swung open, it felt like he resented the living.
“In a way, ghosts are exactly like living humans.
“Each one has a different story and personality, and a unique way of communicating.
“Some ghosts are idiots and want to cause trouble, just like some living people.
“If someone is brash and annoying in life they are often brash and annoying in death.”
Brocarde also once had a powerful yet fleeting encounter with a young girl at an old saloon, s well as a monk from the 1200s.

The singer said: “She must have been about seven and was wearing a dirty white dress.
“The child lead me to a doll that was sitting in a rocking chair.
“I tried to connect with this young girl and find out more using my spirit rods, but she told me that she was tired and too poorly to play.
“Her eyes were almost hollow.
“It troubled me to feel that this child’s ghost was still suffering even in death.
“I also encountered the apparition of a frail man who was wasting away before my eyes.
“He was chanting in what I believe to be Latin but his chants were like cries.
“The monk was begging for food and told me that he died of starvation due to malnutrition.”
Brocarde doesn’t just sense emotion or hear voices – she claims to also be able to smell ghosts in her presence.
She said: “Often a ghost will trigger your senses.

“When I saw an apparition of Marie Antoinette at Versailles, it wasn’t just a visual, she had quite a unique scent of menthol peppermint, an almost herbal smell.
“Sometimes seeing a ghost is subtle, peaceful and they just pass through, on occasions they want to take a hold of you and make an impact.
“Intense headaches, pains in the chest and extreme nausea can also all be symptoms of paranormal activity.”
Brocarde also visits haunted houses — but says she finds them fascinating rather than scary.
She said: “Sometimes I still get unsettled but I view the ability to see dead people as a gift.
“I travel the world exploring haunted places and no two locations are the same.
“People often assume that spirits are whole but some of the ones I’ve seen are dismembered and disfigured.

“I’ve seen a floating severed head before and a cat with no tail, it let out a shrill meow like it was in pain.
“In the desert, even encountered something that didn’t look human.
“It’s the places that have multiple spirits with different personalities that drain you or when you have several ghosts with malevolent personalities battling for your attention – that’s when you have to maintain control.”
Aside from her paranormal gig, Brocarde focuses on her music, which she shares on her website http://Brocarde.com and YouTube channel
She recently released a new single called Feed My Soul ft. Ray Luzier from Korn.
Brocarde added: “Seeing spirits definitely adds another dimension to my music.
“As a songwriter I am in tune with my emotions, I am sensitive, I can read people and that also applies to spirits.
“I channel everything I can into my music and ghosts definitely take the story to another dimension.”
