A woman who barricaded herself in an apartment was dramatically freed after cops abseiled down a block of flats.
Police and firefighters abseiled down the side of a block of flats to save a woman who had barricaded herself inside and was feared to be in danger.
It happened on Wednesday (17 Dec) in Bucharest, Romania.

According to police, the caller reported that a woman was inside her home, agitated and refusing to cooperate with anyone attempting to help her.
Police rushed to the scene and abseiled down the block of flats before entering the property.
The woman was taken to a medical facility, as reported by Need To Know.
Romanian Police said: “The Capital Police coordinated a complex intervention, in Sector 3 of Bucharest Municipality, to rescue a person in a situation of imminent risk.
“The action was attended by police officers from Police Station 23, police officers from the Special Actions Service – specialised negotiators and assault teams, the intervention being supported by the structures of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations.
“In fact, at around 12:30, by calling SNUAU 112, the police officers of Police Station 23 were notified that, due to personal problems, a woman had barricaded herself in her home, displaying agitated behaviour and refusing any form of cooperation.
“The police officers urgently went to the scene, assessed the operational situation, and, given the identified risks, ordered the activation of the specialised device, requesting the support of the Special Actions Service within the Capital Police, including the negotiators’ team and the assault team.
“During the intervention, the police ensured the management of the situation, the delimitation of the perimeter and the coordination of all forces involved, the absolute priority being to protect the life of the person in danger and prevent any incident.
“To support the intervention and ensure safety conditions, ISUB-IF crews were also mobilised on site, including a team of rescue climbers, who acted as a rappel, in support of the device coordinated by the Capital Police.
“At the appropriate moment, the assault team from the Special Actions Service entered the home, acting quickly and professionally, and the person was taken away safely.
“The woman was handed over to specialised medical teams, being transported and admitted to a specialised medical facility, where she is out of danger.”
