An animal activist has created an enormous, dazzling bird’s eye pro-vegan artwork – with lighting purchased from Lidl.

Fred Brown, who is known for his large-scale artworks created using sand, swapped the beach for a field in his latest online clip.

The 54-year-old made use of a portable work light he purchased in Lidl and a selfie light to add colour.

The herbivore spelled out the statement “Oppose violence, live vegan”, as reported by Need To Know.

The artwork was created by using long exposure photography at a field in Scarborough, North Yorks.

Timelapse footage shows Fred walking through the field in a pattern, to create the statement.

Fred shared the work – his first venture into light painting – on 9 January.

The artist specialises in ephemeral art, a form of artwork which is non-permanent.

Fred said: “A combination of timelapse and long exposure photography reveals extremist bioluminescent lifeforms in my petri dish.

“This is actually my first attempt at large-scale top-down light painting in a field.

“I’m not known for creating pretty patterns, so words it is.

“I guess it qualifies as land art too – it doesn’t get any more ephemeral than light patterns that are only revealed through temporal accumulation.

“A Lidl work light and a selfie light for the colours.”

Previously, Fred created the image of a sheep on a Yorkshire beach to protest against farming.
