A hapless copper needed five stitches to his head after being struck by a police car door.
The mishap occurred during a chase after a motorcyclist who had slipped away following a brief scuffle.
Footage from outside a petrol station shows three officers surrounding the unruly suspect, one of whom hits him with a helmet in an attempt to make the arrest.

The biker broke free and ran off, with the officers giving chase on foot.
A police car then pulls up – and, in almost cartoon fashion, a door swings open, smacking one of the officers in the head and sending him sprawling.
The officer who opened the car door tends to his fallen colleague rather than continuing the pursuit.
The baffling scenes unfolded in Patrocínio, in Brazil’s Minas Gerais state, on Friday (30 Jan).
Police said another officer, not seen in the video, was also injured and is thought to have a torn knee ligament.
Both were discharged the same day to recover at home, as reported by Need To Know.
Although the footage does not show the conclusion of the clash, police say the suspect was apprehended shortly afterwards.
The force added that helmet strikes are part of standard procedure, but confirmed an internal probe into the officers’ conduct is underway.
The incident reportedly began when checkpoint officers spotted the biker riding dangerously, making abrupt manoeuvres and excessive noise.
They confronted him at the petrol station, shown in the footage, where he resisted arrest.
The suspect is said to have multiple traffic offences on record, including dangerous riding, drink-driving, and other administrative violations.
