Several officers stormed the villa, with one shouting: “Hands on your head!”
The drama unfolded in Esteban Echeverría, Argentina, as reported by Need To Know.
Detectives had been tracking a gang involved in car thefts and home invasions across Greater Buenos Aires when they spotted the pool party unwittingly advertised on social media by the suspects themselves.
When tactical officers raided the property, a gunfight broke out.
Police fired at one suspect, who jumped from a height to escape but landed seriously injured after being shot in the head and chest.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was identified as 23-year-old Diego Ezequiel López of Lomas de Zamora.
Police said he had a criminal record, an active arrest warrant from 2022, and was carrying a stolen firearm at the time of the confrontation.
He had also faced drug charges in 2021, as well as armed robbery and illegal possession of a firearm.
The raid also saw the arrest of Nicolás Eduardo Llanelli and Jonathan Alejandro Rodríguez, who were due to be questioned.
The case dates back to May 2025, when police clashed with a group of criminals who had stolen a Toyota Yaris.
One suspect was arrested and a mobile phone seized, which revealed how the gang stole, tampered with, and sold vehicles, often using them in home invasions.
At least 15 crimes were linked to the gang, prompting the courts to authorise 33 simultaneous raids, which led to 15 arrests.
