An evil pet owner has been spotted dumping an entire family of dogs at a rescue before driving off and narrowly avoiding the squealing pups.

A total of nine dogs were left behind by the heartless driver, who carelessly dropped and chucked the animals out the bed of the truck.

The shocking footage showed the dogs frantically chasing after the car as their ex-owner scurried away.

Fortunately, staff members at the Tulsa SPCA were able to run out and save the dogs from being caught on a busy road.

The footage was captured on 10 Mar, as reported by NeedToKnow.

The Oklahoma based rescue have now taken the animals in, with the family being on a stray hold until 13 Mar.

Doug, Darcy and their litter of puppies have settled in after receiving treatment for a few minor medical issues.

The dogs are still looking for their forever homes.

A spokesperson for Tulsa SPCA said: “Animal welfare can be hard, and we know that sometimes people feel like they have no options.

“Situations like this are often the result of someone feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to turn.

“However, abandoning animals is not legal and can put both the animals and our community at risk.

“Tulsa SPCA operates as a managed-intake shelter.

“This means we carefully plan the number of animals we bring in based on our capacity for care so we can ensure every animal receives the attention, enrichment, and medical care they deserve.

“When animals are abandoned like this, it disrupts that balance and can impact the care we are able to provide to the animals already depending on us.

“Our team immediately stepped in to make sure this family of dogs was safe and receiving the care they needed.

“Doug, Darcy, and the puppies are now settling in, getting treatment for a few minor medical issues, and receiving lots of attention from staff while they wait for their forever homes.
