A woman has revealed how she ‘died’ from an asthma attack – only to find herself nursed back to life by her deceased grandmother, and other figures she identified as the Virgin Mary and Archangel Michael.
Amber Baker had suffered with asthma since childhood but was struck by a severe ‘attack’ shortly prior to the incident, made worse by a bronchial cold.
The 47-year-old was even taken to the emergency room at one stage as she struggled to breathe, saying it “felt like an elephant sitting on my chest”.
Terrified and battling for oxygen, she prayed to her grandmother, Elaine, who had passed away the year prior, and prepared to die.
Amber lost consciousness before a familiar figure appeared to rescue her.
“When my grandmother’s spirit walked into the room, I was gasping for air and in crisis,” the spiritual teacher, from Malibu, California, told Need To Know.
“When I saw her, I knew she was answering my prayer for help.
“She came to my bed and helped me breathe.
“I was elated to be in her presence as she was my best friend and I was very close to her growing up, and I missed her so much.
“I was also so relieved to have her help me.”
The incident occurred in November 2018 and followed the “worst flare-up” Amber had experienced with her asthma.
Doctors had put her on a high dose of steroids at 60mg a day to combat the effects, and she even purchased a breathing machine to have in her home to aid her.
Amber said: “I could barely talk or walk without being completely out of breath.
“It felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest and every breath was a strain and a fight.
“It was the scariest time of my life.
“I kept praying to my grandmother in spirit and the angels to help me because I truly thought I was going to die.”
She started having an asthma attack in the early hours of the morning and wasn’t able to reach her phone to call for help.
As her consciousness faded, her grandmother appeared and came to her aid.
Amber said: “I saw a white, hazy figure walk through my door and come to me, immediately laying her hands over my forehead.
“She began to calm me and breathe into my body and chest.
“My whole body started to go up and down and I felt as if my chest was opening with every breath more and more.
“I was completely taken over by her essence, given one breath after another, breathing open my chest and feeling peace and love.”
But she wasn’t alone.
Amber said: “There was a presence next to me on the left named Mary.
“She was pure, unconditional love and didn’t say anything but felt like an anchor.”
Amber recalls the two figures helping her to breathe for what felt like 30 minutes, and she miraculously felt her chest expanding with every breath.
She said: “I was on my side and then my grandma’s spirit moved me to my back and my hands automatically went up as if to receive.
“She said ‘receive’ over and over again.
“I felt another layer of opening and the tightness began to subside as my whole body was permeated by a rapture of love and deep breathing, opening my whole chest and torso.
“I asked her to please not stop until I could comfortably go to sleep.
“Knowing I was communicating directly with my grandma, she assured me she wouldn’t.
“I was totally aware of what was happening, and completely astonished but grateful at the same time, knowing she was saving my life.”
Incredibly, Amber then described seeing a third presence standing at the foot of her bed – who she identified as the “gigantic” form of Archangel Michael.
She said: “His frequency filled the entire room and all of my awareness.
“He had a warm, orange, reddish glow.
“His features weren’t defined the way we see a person – he had the shape of a human form, but his body was fluid energy, moving like water, glowing with light.”
From there, Amber felt herself “leaving” her body and travelling down a “tunnel of light”, before the three beings shared a message with her.
She explained: “They said that I am just a seed in the universe, a physical body that is not bound by my physical body but boundless to unlimited consciousness and power.
“As my mind expanded into this awareness my body felt smaller and farther away.
“I could feel myself tapping into an omnipresent, omniscient power and entering another level of consciousness.
“I knew I was meeting God.
“I was travelling into a vortex of white light.
“It was more than a meeting – it was an activation of a state of being that was divinity itself and that was me; I was God and my divine presence activated.”
Surrounded by other beings that she describes as “angels”, Amber said they were teaching her the difference between living in the mind and body, and living with the knowledge that humans are “boundless” and not confined by our minds.
Amber said: “Archangel Michael told me that my angels, Mother Mary and he, are always with me and that they would bestow upon me a miraculous healing to show me the power of this unlimited source that we can access at any time.”
The next thing she recalled was being in the “afterlife”, while her ‘guardian angels’ healed her body.
She said: “I had crossed over but I was not dead.”
Amber was “reborn” back into her body, and felt “alive in a way I had never felt before”.
She said: “I felt like a completely different person.
“I knew my divine presence had been activated.
“I felt my body beginning to change and my asthma slowly improving.
“My purpose became clear: to help others awaken their divine presence, just as mine had been.”
She felt the presence of her ‘angels’ two more times, and since then, Amber has been committed to her spiritual work.
She said: “After my near-death experience, I was like a walking, living open channel for the divine realm.”
Amber describes being able to receive telepathic messages and having psychic abilities, which she has embraced following her experience in 2018 – including her work as a spiritual teacher under the moniker @malibumedium.
She added: “Even though I had spiritual encounters growing up, crossing over and meeting God has greatly changed my viewpoint.
“It has given me the ability to anchor faith and trust in a higher power and life being eternal into a 100% knowing place.
“I also realise that God and angels and our loved ones are watching over us and want to help us.”
