With daylight fading and the tide looming, it became a race against time to free the stranded motor.
Pictures show volunteers in rain jackets rallying around the vehicle as they attempted to rescue it from its pebbly trap.
Makeshift tracks were shoved beneath the wheels while helpers pushed and heaved in a bid to get the car moving again.

After a gruelling effort, the rescue mission finally paid off and the Skoda was freed before driving away under its own power.
The incident left locals scratching their heads, as reported by Need To Know.
One person said: “Why don’t people just park in a designated parking place and then walk to the beach?”

Another local said: “The things people will do to get out of paying for parking.”
And a third person said: “How in heaven did they even manage to drive on to the pebbles?”

Newgale’s famous pebble bank was formed following a major storm in 1859 and remains one of the most distinctive features of the Pembrokeshire coastline.
