A teenage girl allegedly stabbed her mother to death after waking from a nightmare in which she believed she was being strangled.
The 16-year-old is accused of attacking her mother, Servet Tekir, as she slept in the family home.
Police say the teenager allegedly stabbed the woman multiple times while she was lying in the living room on Monday (29 June) night.

After the attack, the girl reportedly called emergency services herself and told operators she had killed her mother.
Officers and paramedics rushed to the property in Saimbeyli, Turkey, where they found the teenager waiting at the door.
Inside, they discovered Servet lying unresponsive in the living room.
Medics confirmed she had died at the scene from her injuries.
Her body was later taken to Adana for a post-mortem examination, as reported by Need To Know.
According to local reports, the teenager told investigators she had dreamt her mother was trying to strangle her.
She allegedly claimed she woke up still under the influence of the nightmare before carrying out the attack.
The suspect’s nine-year-old sister was also in the house at the time.
The child reportedly told investigators she had been sleeping in the same room as her mother and heard no argument or disturbance before police arrived.
The teenager has been remanded in custody while authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
