A woman has been killed by a lightning strike while walking home during a severe storm.
Geeta Bai, 46, was returning from working in fields when she was struck at around midday on Sunday (23 August).
Horrifying CCTV footage captured the moment the bolt hit Geeta as she walked along a main road in Pandarbhatta village, Mungeli, Chhattisgarh, India.

She had been carrying utensils on her head while making her way home in the severe weather.
Footage from a shop across the road shows a car passing Geeta just seconds before the lightning strikes, knocking her to the ground.
A man walking towards a nearby shop can then be seen spinning around in shock.
Geeta suffered severe burns and was rushed to hospital by her family, but doctors tragically confirmed she had died, as reported by Need To Know.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
The tragedy came just two days after a husband and wife were killed by lightning elsewhere in Chhattisgarh.
Mangal Singh, 45, and his wife Birspatia Bai, 40, were at home in Katra Dhapnipani hamlet, in the Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district, when lightning struck during heavy rain on Saturday evening.
Neighbours and relatives rushed the couple to Marwahi Community Health Centre using the 108 Sanjeevani Express emergency ambulance service.
But both were tragically pronounced dead on arrival.
In a separate incident in Banka district, Bihar, three women were struck by lightning while working in paddy fields.
The incidents come during India’s monsoon season, when farmers and rural workers can be left particularly exposed to sudden thunderstorms while working outdoors.
