An alligator that was found “taped and tied” to a pole outside a middle school has been released back into the wild – but the incident has left locals baffled.
The poor animal was discovered with black tape wrapped around its snout, stopping it from opening its jaw.
The alligator was left with an orange rope around its neck and tied to a pole on the school grounds.

The terrifying find – just yards away from unsuspecting pupils – has left wildlife experts and locals stumped.
The alligator was discovered at Grovetown Middle School, Columbia County, Georgia, as reported by Need To Know.
Luckily, members of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources arrived on the scene shortly after it was found.
The animal was secured and evaluated by staff, who established it was healthy enough to be tagged and released back into the wild.
The incident took place on 16 Sep but has left locals going wild this week with people left in stitches by the discovery on 12 Oct.

“Is that for real? Is that your new mascot??,” said Georgia.
Whilst locals have seen the funny side, experts have pleaded with members of the public about the seriousness of the incident.

“Leave it to licensed professionals, and see this incredible reptile where it belongs – below the Georgia fall line, in the wild.”
