A three-year-old girl was fatally struck by a forklift driven by her uncle inside a biscuit factory.
The tragic accident happened at around 6.30pm on Tuesday (13 October).
Elliza Ramos Salvador’s uncle, one of the company’s co-owners, was manoeuvring the forklift inside the factory at the end of the working day when she entered its path.

He was alerted by the girl’s father, who shouted after realising she had been hit.
Elliza’s uncle stopped the vehicle and rushed to help her before taking her, along with other relatives, to a local hospital in Andradas, Brazil.
She arrived at 6.45pm in cardiac arrest, as reported by Need To Know.

Despite receiving medical treatment, she could not be saved.
Elliza had reportedly been in the factory yard and emerged from behind a storage rack while running through the area.
The rack is believed to have obstructed the forklift operator’s view of her in the moments leading up to the accident.
He told police he had not seen her.

Police were called to carry out a forensic examination, while Elliza’s body was taken to a morgue in Poços de Caldas.
Officers attempted to interview her parents, Eduardo and Ana Heloísa, but they were too distressed to give statements.
Elliza was laid to rest at Andradas Municipal Cemetery yesterday morning (14 October).
The accident remains under investigation.
