Three yobs who sliced a hole in Jeff Stelling’s £80,000 Range Rover have got away with it.

Cops have failed to catch the “scumbags” who vandalised the TalkSPORT presenter’s flash motor.

Police have now closed their investigation into the criminal damage after a three-month investigation, as reported by Luxury Auto News.

Stelling, 69, was left livid when he returned to his silver SUV in a hotel car park and saw the damage.

He’d been doing a meet-and-greet with fans at a theatre just a mile-and-a-half away at the time.

Officers said they were trying to track the trio since the crime took place on 11 February, but they have drawn a blank.

The ex-Sky Sports Gillette Soccer Saturday host had parked his Range Rover Sport at the Casa Hotel in Lockoford Lane, Chesterfield, Derbyshire.

He was doing his ‘An Evening with Jeff Stelling’ event — one of 42 he’s doing across the UK this year — at the Winding Wheel Theatre in the town.

He was doing the event for fans and was joined on stage by former Sky Sports colleague, Bianca Westwood.

The TV and radio favourite then chatted to fans about this career.

They paid £32.70 a ticket or the premium price of £52.80 to meet him as well.

But when he returned to the car park he found the gaping rip in the metal, as reported on Need To Know.

Stelling said at the time: “Thanks, Chesterfield.

“Anyone who knows the scumbags who did this to my car while I was trying to entertain people please let me know.

“What the f*ck has happened to people.”

A Derbyshire Police spokesperson said when the probe was launched: “We were called at 11.45pm, on Sunday 11 February to reports that a Range Rover had been damaged in the car park of the Casa Hotel in Lockoford Lane.

“The crime had occurred around 15 minutes before the call and the offenders were not reported to be on the scene.

“A description of the three people involved – reported as being three youths in dark clothing and wearing face coverings – was passed to local officers to check if the offenders were still in the area.”

But yesterday (20 May), the force admitted that they hadn’t been able to catch the crooks.

The spokesperson added: “Investigations have taken place but we have been unable to identify any suspects for this offence and the matter has now been closed.

“However if anyone does have any information on this incident and hasn’t yet spoken to police, we’d urge them to contact us.”
