The tragic deaths of a mother and her two daughters in Bushey have left the community in mourning, with the family being remembered as “the loveliest, gentlest family.”

The victims, Carol Hunt, 61, and her daughters Hannah, 28, and Louise, 25, were killed in a brutal attack on Tuesday evening.

Police have intensified their investigation, focusing on a house in Enfield. Kyle Clifford, the suspect, remains in the hospital.

Officers in gloves and face masks were seen at the Rendlesham Road property on Thursday, following an initial search on Wednesday.

Clifford was apprehended after a manhunt that followed the murders in Ashlyn Close. He was discovered injured in Lavender Hill Cemetery and transported to the Royal London Hospital.

Authorities have not disclosed the nature of his injuries but confirmed they did not involve police firearms. Clifford has not yet been arrested.

Emergency services arrived at the Hunt family home around 7pm on Tuesday, where they found the women. Hertfordshire Constabulary reported that a crossbow and possibly other weapons were used in the attack.

A memorial service was held at St James’s Church in Bushey on Thursday morning, where friends and neighbors gathered to pray for the family.

Hannah Hunt’s colleagues at The Anti-Ageing Clinic in Radlett expressed their grief on Facebook, mourning the loss of a “fantastic therapist.” Su Kehinde, a neighbor, laid flowers near the police cordon, describing the Hunts as “the meekest human beings” and “beautiful souls.”

Her daughter April remembered Hannah’s constant smile, while Luisa, a friend and client of Louise’s dog grooming business, shared how Louise’s care for animals reflected her kind nature. Another friend reminisced about Louise’s kindness and positivity since their school days.

A heartfelt note on flowers left at the police cordon expressed a deep sense of loss and love for the family. Glyn Nicholas, another neighbor, described them as a “private family, all very nice,” highlighting Louise’s successful dog grooming business.

Carol Hunt was married to John Hunt, a racing commentator for Sky Sports Racing and BBC Racing. John Hunt has one surviving daughter.

Rupert Bell, a Talksport commentator and longtime friend, spoke of Mr. Hunt’s transition from a policeman to a sports commentator, a career change encouraged by his wife. Bell described Mr. Hunt as a “genuine, loyal human being” deeply loved by many.

BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Mark Chapman also shared his support, dedicating a heartfelt message to his colleague and friend at the start of the Euro 2024 pre-match show, emphasizing the deep connections and affection the 5 Live Sport team has for Mr. Hunt.
