A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a British woman who fell 30 feet from a hotel balcony in Ibiza two years ago.

Robyn-Eve Maines, 24, was on holiday with her boyfriend when she fell from their second-floor room at the Rosamar Hotel, near the party hotspot of San Antonio, on September 25, 2022.

The Merseyside Police announced that a 27-year-old man from London has been taken into custody and released on bail as investigations continue.

Robyn’s tragic fall, originally treated as an accident, is now under a murder investigation after a review of the case by Spanish authorities.

Robyn’s family, still devastated by the loss, is desperate for answers. In a heartfelt statement, they said: “Our beautiful daughter Robyn-Eve was tragically taken from us two years ago.

We just want justice for Robyn. If anyone knows anything about what happened that night, we urge them to come forward.”

Detective Inspector Phil Ryan echoed the family’s plea, urging anyone who may have been staying at the hotel around the time of Robyn’s death to come forward.

He suggested that some holidaymakers might return to the same resort each year and could have witnessed something significant.

“Were you at the Rosamar Hotel in September 2022? Even the smallest piece of information could be vital,” Ryan added.

Robyn-Eve’s untimely death has left her family and friends heartbroken. She had arrived in Ibiza on September 22, 2022, with her partner and friends for what should have been a joyful holiday.

But just three days later, her mother received a phone call from the British consulate, delivering the devastating news.

Robyn was pronounced dead at the scene after falling from the balcony around 9 a.m. on the fateful morning. Despite the efforts of paramedics who rushed to the scene, her life could not be saved.

Her boyfriend, who was present at the time of the incident, had immediately alerted hotel staff, who in turn called emergency services.

Robyn, who was from Wallasey in Merseyside and a trainee solicitor, was described by loved ones as a kind, vibrant person with a bright future ahead of her.

Her younger brother, Cam, expressed his deep sorrow, saying: “She will forever be loved and remembered for the fantastic person she is. Our hearts bleed for the loss of someone so special. I love you, big sis.”

Tributes from friends and family poured in after her death, with many remembering her for her warmth and lively spirit.

Victoria Carr, a close friend, described Robyn as a “firecracker, beautiful inside and out, and so much fun to be around.”

Her aunt Diane echoed these sentiments, saying Robyn was “a beautiful person inside and out with everything to live for.”

As the murder investigation progresses, Robyn’s family continues to seek answers and justice.

Merseyside Police are urging anyone with information to come forward, whether through direct contact or anonymously via Crimestoppers.

Authorities are keen to ensure that no stone is left unturned in the quest to uncover what truly happened on that tragic day in Ibiza.
