A popular food vlogger has died after a two-year battle with cancer – just a week after marrying his partner from his hospital bed.
Juan José “Juanjo” Menéndez Recio, 28, passed away on Thursday (23 Oct) after bravely fighting advanced colon cancer.
His devastated family said: “Even knowing what he was facing, he never stopped creating and sharing content, even in the hardest moments.

“All your love and support meant the world and helped him through his final days.”
Just days before his death, Juanjo shared a final emotional video with his 88,000 YouTube subscribers, recorded from a hospital in Seville, Spain, as reported by Need To Know.
The vlogger – known for trying “everything from gourmet dishes to random supermarket finds” – revealed he was diagnosed in December 2023, the same month he launched his channel.
He said: “I remember having an important test at the hospital to see if I had a tumour or cancer, and sadly, the prediction came true: colon cancer
“From that point on, things went downhill.”
Juanjo said the diagnosis shattered him, but he kept creating videos even during chemotherapy and after an emergency surgery for a bowel perforation.
Despite the pain, he stayed upbeat, and in his farewell video urged followers to enjoy life, saying: “I don’t have much time left, but you, who do, make the most of it.
“Don’t get hung up on numbers – do it because you enjoy it.”
In his final act of love, Juanjo married his partner María Seoane in a hospital ceremony surrounded by close family and friends.
Emotions ran high as the couple exchanged vows, with Juanjo signing off the clip with his trademark humour: “This was my wedding.
“We’ll celebrate properly in Las Vegas later.”
Since his passing, fans have flooded his pages with tributes and messages of condolence.
His family added: “The thousands of comments across his social media show just how much of an inspiration he was to all of us.”
