A star cheerleader has been stabbed in the neck by an obsessed fan at a private modelling event.
Wang Ching-wen, known professionally as Wenwen, was attacked by a 52-year-old male fan who is accused of planning the assault in advance.
The alleged murder attempt took place at a photography studio in Taipei on 20 June.

The fan reportedly stabbed the 28-year-old cheerleader for the CTBC Brothers – one of Taiwan’s professional baseball teams – with a concealed fruit knife while she attended a photoshoot organised by Qin Jia Nuo Photography Company.
Wang is a member of the team’s cheerleading squad, the Passion Sisters.
Wang suffered a 5cm laceration to her throat.
Several photographers who intervened sustained minor cuts.
The suspect, surnamed Hsu, had registered for the event over a month earlier despite a history of being blocked by Wang for repeated harassment.
She underwent emergency surgery at Mackay Memorial Hospital and remains in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries.
Her wounds are healing steadily under medical observation.
In her first public statement on social media, she said the surgery was successful and asked fans not to worry.
She thanked the CTBC Brothers, her agency Dorian International Entertainment, the photography team, and bystanders who intervened.
She has since given police statements and is focusing on rest and recovery while requesting privacy, as reported by Need To Know.
The CTBC Brothers and Dorian International Entertainment issued a joint statement condemning the violence, confirming Wang was not in immediate danger.
They have introduced enhanced security at home games and banned cheerleaders from attending private events alone.
Police described Hsu as an unemployed obsessive fan who relies on monthly payments of £477 to £715 (TWD 20,000–30,000) from his retired father to fund his pursuit of cheerleading events and merchandise.
He had been barred from similar activities since last September.
The court has approved his pre-trial detention on suspicion of attempted murder and assault, citing strong evidence and risk of reoffending.
