The left side of his face took the full impact, shattering the cartilage in the outer ear.
An in-ear monitor he was wearing broke during the fall.
With blood splattered across his left face and ear, the singer immediately stood up and finished the song.
Crew members gave him simple bandaging on stage and wrapped his left ear.
The 50-year-old completed the show with only his right in-ear monitor despite the visible injury.
Wang, who is also a film actor and director, joked on stage that he looked a bit like Van Gogh or an MMA fighter.
He said the show must go on and thanked fans for their love and well wishes.
The incident happened during Wang’s The Best Place II tour at the Dong’an Lake Sports Park Main Stadium in Chengdu, China, on 4 July.
Up to 40,000 people were in attendance.
After the concert, Wang went straight to hospital for further treatment.
A CT scan confirmed no damage to his brain or skull.
Doctors gave him 27 stitches to his left ear and 12 to his face, as reported by Need To Know.

Wang later said: “When you’re performing live in front of 40,000 fans, you don’t feel the pain.
“The blood looked frightening, but there were no more serious injuries.
“I feel incredibly lucky and blessed that it wasn’t any worse.”
His agency said the accident was caused by the improper operation of a wire harness.
An internal investigation has been launched.
