A bride has received free gifts and letters from top brands and celebrities after “inviting” them to her wedding in a cheeky viral hack.
When Megan Pierson and Dylan Coney opened up their wedding invitations and noticed they had been printed on the wrong type of card, they were left disappointed.
Instead of throwing them away, the couple, both aged 26, decided to send their favourite celebrities, brands and companies a “joke” invite to see if any would respond.

Included in their A-list guestlist was Dolly Parton, Justin Bieber and Johnny Depp, as well as their favourite baseball team, Toronto Blue Jays.
While they haven’t had any RSVPs yet, the social media specialist and architectural technologist have already received some special packages wishing them a happy marriage – with lots of free goodies.
“We didn’t think we would get any replies, but then the first one came in and we were so shocked,” Megan told NeedToKnow.co.uk.
“I usually get a lot of press packages, but once we noticed that both our names were on it, we realised it must be from our wedding invites.
“Chick-Fil-A gave us a handwritten note along with a parcel full of goodies and then we got a letter in the mail from our favourite baseball team too.”
In a clip, posted on TikTok, which has racked up 4.8 million views and over 478,000 likes, they reveal their freebies from the chicken restaurant chain.
Dylan begins with explaining the background behind receiving the package, before Megan screams with excitement as she opens up the box.
Dylan reads out the note, where the chicken restaurant wrote: “Hi Megan and Dylan, thank you for inviting us to your wedding.
“Although we can’t attend in person, we hope that you will enjoy all the goodies, your friends at Chick-Fil-A.”

Inside the parcel, there is a branded toy cow, socks, food keychains, a bag and free food vouchers.
She ends the video saying: “Thank you Chick-Fil-A – I’m so happy.”
Users have flocked to the comments to share their reactions, with many asking for advice on how to carry out the hack.
“How do you find out where to send out invites to?” one person commented. [sic]
Someone else added: “So you send invites just to get free stuff?”
“Love the brands that answer back, happy for you guys, wish you the best,” Martin said. [sic]
Tara added: “You should display everything you get at your wedding.”
“I’m now invested in this series…need to see the other responses when they come in!!!” Andrea commented.
While excited, their true happiness showed when they heard back from the Toronto Blue Jays.
In the letter, they said: “Dear Megan and Dylan, it has come to our attention that you two Blue Jay fans are celebrating a very special day.
“It is always great to hear the story of our fans who find each other and share the grand slam of love.
“On behalf of the entire Toronto Blue Jays baseball club, we would like to congratulate you on your wedding and wish you a lifetime of happiness together.”
The couple, who got engaged in March 2022, will be tying the knot next month.
Before receiving their mishap invitations, they were in search of ideas to make the day truly unique – and this hack has ticked all the boxes.
Inside each invitation is a handwritten note about the big day and their careers, as well as a “declaration of love” for each brand or celebrity.
While they’re hopeful for Dolly Parton to make an appearance, they aren’t holding their breath – but packages are still coming in to wish them congratulations.
Megan, from Calgary, Canada, added: “We haven’t heard back from any of the celebrities, but lots of small businesses have asked to send us a gift, which is really sweet.

“This has been a great distraction from the stress of the wedding planning process.
“We haven’t been overly stressed, but getting these surprise packages has put a smile on our faces.
“Let’s just say, if Dolly Parton somehow shows up for our wedding, nothing would ever top that.”
