Story from Jam Press (Aunt Bessies Beer) Pictured: Northern Monk’s Aunt Bessies Ale. Beer-loving Brits left divided by Aunt Bessie’s Sunday roast craft ales Beer and roast dinner loving Brits can combine their two loves - with Aunt Bessie’s range of roast dinner ale. They are proving so popular they have already sold out. Aunt Bessie’s - famed for its frozen Yorkshire Puddings and desserts - has teamed up with the Yorkshire brewery Northern Monk for the bizarre beverage line. The roast dinner flavoured brown ale comes in a four pack that features other Aunt Bessie favourites. These include jam roly poly and apple crumble and custard pale ales and sticky toffee pudding with custard porter is also in the selection pack. It is available to buy on the Northern Monk website for £5.50. The drinks are 4.5% alcohol. But it is listed as ‘sold out.’ The quirky brewery describes the canned roast dinner as a “rich, hearty and satisfying beer.” They recommend having the brown ale as a main course followed by one of the dessert flavours. Northern Monk said: “Jam Roly Poly Pale Ale has that jammy, sweet flavour with creamy vanilla; maybe Apple Crumble Pale Ale is your thing, with subtle notes of cinnamon, or Sticky Toffee Pudding Porter, for a caramel-y sticky sweet treat. ”All served with custard, of course.” Beer-lovers were left divided by the unusual craft beer. Customer, Nick Wilson said: “We’ve hit peak craft beer nonsense.” ”It’s the cat food packaging for me,” said someone else. Lew Beetham said: “I actually liked them. ”Apart from the Sunday Dinner one – that one can get in the bin unfortunately.” Manchester-based pub, Rain City mocked the collaboration. They said: “Aprils Fools has been and gone lads.” ”I thought this was a joke but now I’m really keen to try them all,” said Suzanne Coleman. ENDS
