A woman has gone viral on TikTok revealing a hilarious blunder – after her parents accidentally bought $10,000 worth of Disney+ gift cards, rather than passes to the theme park.
After planning a family vacation to Disney World for 16 members, Andie Coston’s elderly parents thought they’d save cash and buy vouchers to purchase tickets and restaurant reservations.
But when they had trouble loading them, Andie discovered that the gift cards were for television streaming service Disney+ – and her parents had accidentally purchased over 70 years of the streaming platform.

Taking to TikTok to share the tale, Andie asked for advice on how to rectify the situation and the video went viral with over 69,000 likes and 2.1 million views.
“We were in disbelief when we figured it out,” Andie told NeedToKnow.co.uk.
“My dad and I just laughed and [felt] deflated at the same time.
“He asked me to tell my mum and I said no, so my oldest child offered in exchange for college funds (a joke).
“They did end up telling her and were so sweet about breaking the news.
“My parents did end up hearing from Disney last night.
“We were able to exchange the [Disney+] gift cards as well as get [park] gift cards.”
Social media users were in disbelief at the unfortunate mishap.
One person commented: “Kids: mom can we go to Disney, You forever: we have Disney at home.”
“Who the hell allowed them to buy all of those?! You would think that would raise some retail red flags at checkout,” said another viewer.
Someone else added: “Does no one read when buying lol.”
While one critic said it was “clearly user error”, Andie clarified that her parents are 78 and don’t normally use streaming services.
Another person recommended: “Sell the gift cards. They’re a great Christmas gift for people who use Hulu and Disney plus.”
“Insane to convert $10k into gift cards for any reason! So much can go wrong,” said someone else.
One user joked: “No wonder Disney+ increased their prices they thought people really want the streaming service at a hefty price.”
“You had YEARS to plan,” said another critic.
Luckily, the issue was resolved, with the company exchanging the streaming gift cards for the vouchers to use in the park.
