An unwanted XL Bully is desperate for a new owner – just days before ban – or she may be put down.
A dog charity is looking to re-home the one-year-and-19-month-old called Eden for the SECOND time.
Manchester and Cheshire Dog’s Home said she was previously adopted but returned to the charity.
They are now in a race against time to re-home Eden before the ban comes into effect on Sunday (31 Dec).
It will soon be illegal to re-home, breed, or sell XL Bully dogs.
This means many will have to be put down.
The Government has announced they will pay a contribution towards the associated costs.
This contribution will be a total of £200 per dog.
Manchester and Cheshire Dog’s home says Eden has been muzzle training.
This is because all existing XL Bully dogs will need a letter of exemption and to wear a muzzle outside on walks.
She will need to be adopted and exempted within the next three days.
A spokesperson for Manchester and Cheshire Dog’s Home said: “Sadly our gorgeous Eden has been returned to us due to her wanting all the attention from her owners in a home environment.
“She is social with other dogs, but we feel she needs to be the only dog in the home.
“Eden is an XL Bully so we are desperate now to get her another home before the ban comes in on 31 December.
“Please share to get Eden the forever home she deserves.
“*Please don’t contact us about transferring her to another country as the deadline for the ban is too close now.”
Eden’s listing has attracted a lot of attention from dog lovers.
However, some slammed the owner for returning her so close to the date of the ban.
Julia Day said: “How so unfair to return her for just wanting attention knowing the ban is days away
“They obviously couldn’t be bothered to try to seek help from a behaviourist.”
Sarah Nicole Fowler said: “Bullies are known for being very needy and loving dogs and wanting your undivided attention and love they are the best.
“Please someone give her a chance.”
“Hope this is her happy ending,” said Shelley Smith.
Jodie Lambert said: “I’m heartbroken for these dogs.”
The ban is coming in due to injuries and deaths caused by the breed in the UK.
