An acrobat with a rope apparently tied to her neck suffered a horror accident during a circus stunt.
Footage taken by an audience member shows how the incident unfolded.
A man on the ground secures a rope hanging down from the ceiling of the big top.
Halfway up the rope is a female performer, who is attached by what looks like a rope around her neck.
The man on the ground spins the rope around in a circle.
As the woman glides through the air, she also spins rapidly around her own axis.
As she stops spinning, she holds her arms and legs in an elegant pose.
But as she continues making circles through the air, her limbs seem to go limp.
She seems to reanimate and uses her hands to try to adjust the equipment around her neck.
But she quickly goes limp a second time.
The audience appears unsure how to react as the woman dangles unresponsively in the air.
Staff eventually sprint over as she is lowered to the ground.
She is freed from the equipment and hurriedly carried outside as music continues playing.
It happened in India on Tuesday (2 Jan).
It is unconfirmed what happened to the woman.
One local said: “Never understood how any sane person could hang by an object around their neck.”
