What’s the Difference Between HHC and CBD?

Have you heard of hexahydro cannabinol (HHC) before? It’s relatively new, so you might not have, but more and more people are talking about it. It’s easy to get it confused with THC and CBD – it’s more closely related to CBD than THC.

Below, we’ll compare the differences between HHC and CBD to see just how different they are from each other.

Chemical Structure and Psychoactive Effects

The primary difference between HHC and CBD is the chemical structure and where they come from. CBD comes from hemp seeds – there’s now a psychoactive component. By law, CBD products in the UK must contain only 1mg of THC, if they include any at all.

HHC is a hydrogenated form of THC, hence the hexahydro part of the name. Unlike CBD, which is non-psychoactive and known for its therapeutic benefits without inducing a “high,” HHC has mild psychoactive properties. HHC’s effects are reportedly less intense than THC. They can still alter perception and mood, making it different from CBD. CBD will never generate a high, even with 1mg of THC.

Product Varieties

You can buy HHC and CBD in different forms. It depends on what you like. CBD is available in oils, edibles, capsules, drinks – pretty much everything you can think about. CBD has blown up into a massive money maker. , catering to different consumer preferences. HHC’s product range is expanding as its popularity grows. You can buy vapes, edibles, and oils. You can check out all the products on websites like moonbarguy.co.uk.

There’s not much difference in how it makes you feel depending on the product – that’s more to do with the strength. The onset time will vary depending on the products, however.

Medical Benefits and Applications

CBD has an extensive range of therapeutic applications supported by an almost endless list of research. That’s because CBD suddenly became so much more popular, so there was more reason for people to want to research it. The same is happening with HHC; there’s just more research for CBD.

For HHC, evidence suggests it can provide pain relief and relaxation, with a potential for mild euphoria. Scientific research is limited.

And for CBD, research is showing it can alleviate the following:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Inflammation and pain
  • Sleep disorders
  • Focus and cognitive ability

But the key word is can. It’s not guaranteed to. It’s the same with HHC.

Safety and Side Effects

HHC is generally well-tolerated, with a good safety rating. Some side effects can be similar to THC but not as strong:

  • Fatigue
  • Changes in appetite

There aren’t many side effects other than that, and some people take HHC specifically for the effects. CBD doesn’t really have any side effects. Some say it can cause changes to appetite and a dry mouth.

Hopefully, you now understand the differences between HHC and CBD. They’re both similar; it’s just one that is more well-known than others. There’s no doubt that HHC will become as popular as products like CBD and THC as it becomes more researched.
