The horror unfolded in Kuršumlija, Serbia, yesterday (8 May).
Police officers and emergency medics arrived on the scene.
They took a 12-year-old girl with severe head injuries to a hospital in Niš.
She had to be resuscitated and is now in an induced coma, according to local media.
Her condition is said to be life-threatening, as reported on Need to Know.
Twelve others on the ride, aged 10 to 22, sustained minor injuries.
They were taken to a hospital in Prokuplje and some have already been discharged.
The leaseholder of the plot and the fairground ride owner have been arrested.
They have been identified in reports as Jovan Nedeljković and Zoran Ljubomirović.
The pair are currently detained on suspicion of serious offences against public safety.
The investigation continues.
