The strip show was staged inside the ABC Auditorium in the campus of the Faculty of Sciences of the same institution.
The performance took place when Faculty of Sciences students went on strike on 16 May.
The students were set to return to campus yesterday (21 May), as reported by Need To Know.
Víctor Manuel Velázquez, director of the Faculty of Sciences, said he wasn’t even aware that the union was staging such an event.
He also said the show was encouraging “proselytism”, the act of attempting to convert people’s religious or political beliefs.
The statement read: “In reference to the improper acts of proselytism carried out today, 16 May, in the ABC auditorium by some workers of our faculty, I believe that these types of expressions divert us from the important work of our university.”
He added: “I would like to point out the demarcation of responsibilities of our academic community, and in particular of a sector of the student body that is currently staging a strike.”
Images of the show were widely shared on social media, sparking outrage among many.
One local commented: “Those who organised this thought it was a ‘good idea’, and those who attended thought it was a ‘good idea’.
