The MP wannabe was walking through Gill Street in the West End of Newcastle, which was littered with rubbish and overflowing bins.
She stated: “It looks like a war zone but I’m not in Gaza or Syria.
“This is my hometown, Newcastle.”
The extreme comparison has left voters shocked that the politician would make such a shocking statement.
Bin strikes in South Tyneside have caused rubbish collection disruptions for almost nine months, as reported by Needs To Know.
She added:”Now then, you might look at this and think ‘what sort of people live here’.
“Well I tell you what, the people of the West End are the ‘salt of the Earth’.
“Newcastle City Council it’s time for you to clean up your act because nobody deserves to be treated like this.”
Cassie stated: “You did not just compare some rubbish to actual war zones?”
Oliver Witt added: “’I am not in Gaza’ what a comparison.
“Children and women have been slaughtered there for nine months now and you compare it to the rubbish problems of Newcastle.”
Another stated: “If it was Gaza or Syria or a war zone it would be dead bodies not rubbish.”
One other said: “That’s a very low blow to compare with a war zone.”
Nikola added: “I don’t think this looks anything close to a war zone.”
Another said: “Love, that doesn’t look like a war zone come on.”
One other added: “I audibly gasped at the comparison you’ve chosen.”
Since Yvonne’s plea to the council on 1 July, Gill Street has been cleaned with the rubbish now removed.
