A holidaymaker died when the car she was in hit a wild pig and flipped over.
Begüm Dikmen and her family were returning home from their holiday when the horror unfolded.
Her dad, Ibrahim Dikmen, was behind the wheel when a wild boar suddenly appeared on the road.
The car collided with it at around 4:30am today (19 Jul).
The impact caused Ibrahim, 63, to lose control and the car rolled onto its roof.
It landed off the road in a mangled wreck.
Begüm, her parents, and her sister were injured in the crash.
An ambulance took them from the scene near Seymen, Turkey, to a hospital in nearby Çorlu.
Begüm was admitted in critical condition, as reported on Need To Know.
Despite the medics’ best efforts, they couldn’t save the young pharmacist’s life.
Ibrahim, 61-year-old Nazmiye Dikmen, and 34-year-old Damla Dikmen are still in treatment but are reported to be on the mend.
The police are investigating the accident, which happened as the family of four were returning home from Antalya.
They are from Çorlu and would only have been about 20 minutes from home when the crash happened.
They would have already done about nine hours by car when they struck the wild pig.
According to social media, Begüm had graduated with a pharmacy degree from Altınbaş University in Istanbul.
Her social media snaps show that she had her own pharmacy.
Her friend and fellow pharmacist Hazar Karabağ wrote: “Rest in peace, my kind-hearted colleague.”
