In response to the woman’s death, the local authorities announced increased efforts to deal with the growing population of wild boars in the area.
Boars are fast, strong, and aggressive animals that will usually attack if they feel threatened or are caring for their young.
Experts recommend darting up a tree or climbing to a lofty position that the wild boar cannot reach.
If it’s not possible to avoid an attack, locals are recommended to cover their head, neck, and torso to minimise the harm.
