A singer needed 32 stitches after he was bottled in the face at his own gig after being falsely accused of snogging another bloke’s wife.
Hapless Adelson Trindade de Souza was packing up some gear after the show when a man climbed onto the stage and tapped him on the shoulder.
A split second after De Souza turned to face him in the early hours of 1 January, he was struck in the face with a bottle.

The singer, whose stage name is Benício, recalled: “I had no time to react. The pain was overwhelming.
“But the worst part was the humiliation.
“Many news outlets claimed I had kissed the man’s wife, but that never happened.
“My wife was at the show. We work as a family.”
Horror before-and-after snaps show how the dad of one was left with a black eye and stitches all over one side of his face.
The attack in João Pinheiro, Brazil, meant Benício, whose second child is due in a month, was unable to take part in his wife’s maternity photoshoot.
He was also forced to cancel at least eight gigs and will be left with a lasting scar near his left eye.
The singer, who’s believed to be about 27, told local media: “Looking in the mirror for the first time wasn’t easy.
“I’m someone who takes pride in my appearance, and whether I like it or not, my face is part of my work.”
The man who bottled Benício at the New Year’s Eve gig was restrained at the scene before he could do him any more harm.
In his statement to the police, he claimed he’d seen the singer kissing his wife on the stairs by the stage.
The 27-year-old suspect admitted to being under the influence of alcohol at the time.
No witnesses interviewed by the police reported seeing the alleged smooch.
Benício is one half of the country music duo Hermes e Benício, as reported by Need To Know.
Both he and the band will file complaints against the suspect in a bid to get compensation.
The singer said: “I’ve got 32 stitches right now, can’t be in the sun, and depending on how I chew or strain my face, the wounds still bleed.
“Even so, I’d do it all over again for my fans. I’m grateful for their concern and support, and I hope to be back on stage soon.”
