An 18-year-old school leaver was killed in a hit-and-run by a dangerous driver as she walked home from a night out.
Maria Eduarda Souza Augusto and two friends were on their way back from a party to celebrate finishing school when the horror unfolded.
CCTV footage shows how a speeding car mounted the pavement and hit Maria and her friend Giovana Delarubia head-on.

She somersaulted through the air and landed with a thud more than 30 metres down the road.
The driver stopped, got out of the car, and walked over to her as she lay unconscious on the ground in the early hours of Sunday (12 January).
After realising she was unresponsive, he got back into the car and drove away from the scene in Armação dos Búzios, east of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Tragic Maria, who’d sustained multiple fractures in the accident, was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
Tragically, she died hours later.
Giovana, also 18, was transferred to a hospital in Macaé with fractures, cuts and scrapes all over her body.
The car involved in the accident has since been seized by the police.
Its number plates are from Belo Horizonte, which lies more than eight hours from the accident site by car.
Maria was laid to rest yesterday (13 January) morning in Casimiro de Abreu, as reported by Need To Know.
Her father, Deocilio José Augusto, told local media: “I want justice. I lost my daughter, at just 18, because of a cowardly person who didn’t help.
“She went to Búzios to spend time with her friends, and this tragedy happened.”
An operation to track down the driver is underway.
