He is said to have arranged them from Cartagena, Barranquilla and Santa Marta which travelled to Europe.
Surveillance footage shows the dramatic moment Gregorini was captured, as authorities raided the apartment he was staying in, in Cartagena, north of Medellin, Colombia.
He was also seen in other clips going about his day-to-day life in the area where he was renting a property.
Gegorini was spotted visiting local restaurants and also a gym.
He is thought to have not feared being recognised despite being on the run from authorities since 2023.
His arrest on Tuesday (18 Mar) came as a result of a large multinational operation which included Italian, British and Colombian investigators, as reported by Need To Know.
Prosecutors have said that his arrest points to an increased presence of the Italian mafia in Latin America.
Gregorini is no stranger to the police and had previously been arrested in 2020 while in Rome.
According to police, he was captured due to ‘mafia criminal association and money laundering, contributing to the financial growth of the Italian mafias’.
Police have worked to locate his whereabouts since 2023.
