A man has been arrested for stabbing his partner to death less than two weeks after she helped him move to America.
Cuban national Carlos Yordanis Aldana was arrested early on Sunday (30 Mar) in Jacksonville, Florida.
Officers responding to a report of a stabbing found the 38-year-old outside a block of flats with knife wounds to his left hand and left shin.

A trail of blood led them into a flat, where they found Yannelis de la Caridad Casales Antón, 30, dead with several stab wounds.

Aldana and Casales had been together for more than six years after meeting in Cuba.
Their relationship was interrupted when Aldana moved to the US, as reported by Need To Know.
During a trip back home to Cuba, Aldana was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
He ended up being jailed for more than three years.

Around three years ago, while he was still in prison, Casales managed to reach the US.
After his release, she helped him reach America once again.
Aldana finally arrived back in the US less than two weeks before the crime.
A video posted on 17 March shows how Casales met him at the airport with balloons.
Her loved ones are now fundraising in a bid to repatriate her body to Cuba, where her parents live.
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said: “Detectives determined the incident is domestic in nature.

“After speaking with witnesses and gathering evidence, your Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Homicide detectives promptly arrested Aldana.
“He was transferred from the hospital to the Duval County jail, where he is behind bars, charged with murder.”
