New data has revealed that the most popular creators on OnlyFans are earning on average $300,000 per month – a figure that has risen by $80,000 since last year.

But while established names are raking in the cash, newcomers are in for a challenge.

The findings, released today (3 April 2025) by the OnlyFans Management and AI Platform Supercreator, show the dramatic gap between top and bottom-level earners – and what being a ‘top’ earner actually means in monetary terms.

For instance, if you are among the 0.1% most popular creators on the site, you are making on average $94,400 per month.

While this is certainly not a salary to sniff at, the earnings drop substantially after just a few percentage points.

For example, the top 1% of creators earn ‘just’ $18,700 on average.

Meanwhile, you need only pull in $350 a month to say you are in the top 20% of creators on the site.

Perhaps shockingly, the bottom 1% scrape by with just $2 added to their bank account per month.

OnlyFans has seen people in traditional professions like teachers and police officers ditch their careers, while making young people – like famous Sophie Rain – into millionaires almost overnight.

But while the job might appear like a surefire route to getting rich fast, CEO of Supercreator, Yuval says the numbers show a very different picture.

“In reality, only around 3-4% of creators, which is still a high number of creators, earn more than minimum wage,” he said.

“Many people are supplementing their OnlyFans income with other revenue streams.

“The thing I like the most is seeing how you don’t have to be famous to make a lot of money on the platform. We see a lot of creators making 5 and 6 figures a month by combining creativity, hard work and persistence.”

“Even the top 0.01% aren’t necessarily achieving the extraordinary numbers we sometimes see reported – those eye-watering figures belong to the 0.001% – the ‘Sophie Rains’ of the platform.”

Since launching in 2016, OnlyFans has grown substantially with celebrities like Lily Allen and Denise Richards jumping on the bandwagon – to name but two stars.

One model who openly admits to struggling on the site is Ruby Jade.

The 24-year-old ‘professional girlfriend’ claims to have earned just £196 in one month.

This figure is in stark contrast to stars like 20-year-old Sophie Rain.

The founder of the Bop House – also referred to as the ‘OnlyFans House’ – claims to make $5m per month.

Sophie Rain, who has 6.8m followers @sophieraiin, said: “I never ever expected to be making this much money.

“I went from living on food stamps and serving tables to this new lifestyle in quite literally less than two years.

“My family has officially retired because of my funds.

“They are living off of my income and I couldn’t be more proud to be saying that.”

“OnlyFans is not an easy way to make money,” said Ruby from Brisbane, Australia, who has 3,000 followers on Instagram (@ruby.x.jade).

“From my experience, it’s almost impossible to earn more than a typical 9 to 5.

“I work as a sex worker legally in Australia but wanted to use the site to earn a bit of extra income.

“It took some pressure off replying to messages asking for customised content when I could simply reply with a link.

“But I don’t believe OnlyFans fans are distributed evenly.

“I only had 400 fans – most only paid for a month and then left.”

Yuval says there’s money to be made and the platform continues to grow.

He said: “Even with additional platforms and some people claiming the hype is over, the numbers show otherwise.

“In order to make it into the top 1% today, you need to make 30% more than you did a year ago – which shows the platform is still growing.

“Often those making the least are working the hardest, spending time driving traffic, chatting with subscribers, and producing content.

“The path to the top is far from glamorous for most, but the ones that know how to combine marketing, sales and hard work have a good chance to succeed.”
