A wild horse and her foal have been dragged from a mud pit after getting stuck in a dried-out watering hole.
Footage of the rescue showed a team of seven people pulling the animals free – with one man even bravely entering the mud to help.
It took over an hour to free the mare using ropes and a lunch bag to keep her head above water.
Mud traps have become a serious issue during dry spells, according to Friends of the Heber Wild Horses.
Both animals survived the ordeal in Heber-Overgaard, Arizona, US, on Saturday morning (April 27).
