A museum has collapsed following a “geological disaster” at a tourist hotspot.
A visitor filmed large clouds of dust pouring from the top of a mountain at the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It is unclear exactly which building was damaged but it appeared to belong to the Taishan Museum Complex.

The incident also caused cracks to appear in the ground.
A temporary closure was immediately issued in the scenic spot of Taishan Geological Park, Shandong province, China.
The area is home to Mount Taishan – a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Staff at the museum have not disclosed specific details surrounding the collapse, which happened on Tuesday (3 June).
However local authorities have been reported in local press as referring to the incident as a “geological disaster”.
Cultural relics stored inside the museum have not been affected and there were no casualties, as reported by Need To Know.

As of Wednesday (4 June), the park was still closed to visitors and people were not allowed to go up the mountain.
The date that the site will reopen has not yet been established.
